Diagnosis and Treatment of Medical Conditions Concerning Eye and
Various Treatments Performed To Correct Specific Sight Conditions
Custom-Fitted Contact Lens
A non-surgical procedure to temporarily reshape the cornea using special designed gas permeable lenses to reduce nearsightedness and astigmatism while dramatically improving unaided eyesight. Pilots, athletes, adults, and young children increasing yearly in nearsightedness can halt and reverse the progression of their myopia with this procedure that has been done since 1960. The benefit is that many patients can go for 24 to 72 hours without their contacts if unaided vision can be brought to 20/25 to 20/20. We have been fortunate to have many patients accomplish this goal. See letter from Ted Schmeltzer and article on Kevin Barclay. There are professions like pilots, firemen and police that need to have adequate unaided vision to qualify. This procedure helps non-surgically and is safe. Dr. Eger is a fellow in the International Orthokeratology Society since 1984. My suggestion to you is to go to somebody who has extensive experience.
Near-Stress Relieving Lenses
For near point perceptual problems with children and adults who cannot sustain long-term focusing. This stress shows up in poor posturing, headaches, blurry vision, poor attention, itching, burning, eye fatigue, and double vision. We also use special progressive lenses for computer near-stress symptoms for adults and children. Near-stress relieving glasses placed temporarily on students helps their near-far focusing efficiency and can halt and sometimes reverse the first onset of nearsightedness. In a year or two these glasses can be disregarded and sight improves naturally.
Therapeutic Medical Treatment
Prescribed certain oral and topical medications for treatment of eye disease and infections.
This is used in combination with corrective lenses, color filters, prisms, and/or contact lenses. This helps adults and children read, work and play more efficiently.
This treatment will improve all 7 fundamental skills of vision. They are:
2. Peripheral Vision
3. Sight (must be global)
4. Binocularity (eye teaming)
5. Near/Far Focusing Efficiency
6. Visualization (visual intuition)
7. Localization In Space (spacial awareness)
